The United Arab Emirates is actively participating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain, focusing on strengthening regional industrial cooperation and enhancing supply-chain resilience. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the delegation is engaging in discussions at the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.
The meetings, taking place from October 6 to 8, are held in conjunction with the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. A primary objective is to foster deeper industrial integration among GCC countries, leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to boost productivity and competitiveness across the region. The UAE aims to involve more private-sector players in regional industrial projects, seeking to build a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector.
Key topics under discussion include industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and strategies to bolster supply-chain resilience. The meetings are also expected to result in several memorandums of understanding between UAE entities and GCC companies, paving the way for expanded industrial partnerships and investment opportunities.
The UAE is emphasizing the potential of artificial intelligence and advanced technology in enhancing industrial productivity. UAE companies are showcasing their national products and industrial technologies, highlighting opportunities for cooperation in manufacturing, technology, and supply chains.
In 2025, the UAE’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion, with Dh92 billion attributed to medium- and high-technology industrial exports. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has played a significant role in this achievement, redirecting more than Dh473 billion into the UAE economy to support local companies and strengthen domestic supply chains.
The UAE’s active participation in these Bahrain meetings underscores its commitment to building stronger industrial ties across the GCC, aiming for a more integrated and competitive regional industrial landscape.
