UAE Team Achieves Top Global ‘Heavy’ Rating in Search and Rescue

The UAE Urban Search and Rescue team has once again secured the coveted “heavy” classification from the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), a UN-affiliated body. This marks the third time the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority’s team has achieved this top international rating, underscoring the UAE’s proficiency and leadership in emergency preparedness and disaster response.

In a ceremony held at Qasr Al Bahr Palace, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended the team’s commitment and exceptional capabilities. He emphasized their professionalism and readiness to address natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies both domestically and on a global scale. This recognition, he noted, is a testament to the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian principles and enhances the nation’s reputation in the realm of disaster management.
