Eid Al Adha Celebrations: UAE Leaders Participate in Nationwide Prayers

The UAE marked the beginning of Eid Al Adha with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan leading prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday morning. Accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and worshippers, Sheikh Mohamed participated in the religious observance, which signifies the start of the significant Islamic festival. Following the prayers, he exchanged Eid greetings with those present, highlighting the communal and festive spirit of the occasion.

In a sermon delivered during the Eid prayers, Dr. Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, underscored the importance of honesty as a pillar for fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He also commended the UAE’s leadership for its dedication to strengthening the nation through unity and a commitment to national interests. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, who joined the President in reciting Al Fatiha in memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

As the prayers unfolded in Abu Dhabi, similar scenes were witnessed across the Emirates, with leaders and citizens gathering at major mosques to observe the holy occasion. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed performed the Eid prayers at the Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sharjah Mosque. The collective participation of rulers and citizens across the country highlighted the shared cultural and religious values of the nation.

In other Emirates, the tradition was equally embraced. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attended the prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque in Ajman, and Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi performed prayers at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah. Meanwhile, in Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered Eid prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque. In Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque.

The observance of Eid Al Adha across the UAE saw thousands of worshippers gathering at mosques nationwide, underscoring the significance of this religious festival in bringing together communities in celebration of shared faith and tradition.
