Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has initiated significant traffic diversions on Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street, aimed at maintaining flow and enhancing access during construction in the City Walk area. This measure is part of the Al Safa Street development project, designed to boost road connectivity and reduce congestion.
The diversions form a segment of a broader infrastructure initiative valued at Dh2 billion, which seeks to strengthen road links throughout the emirate. Dubbed the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor project, this expansive 12-kilometer development will connect several key routes, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2028, the project involves the construction of seven bridges covering 2.3 kilometers and eight tunnels spanning 900 meters. Once completed, the upgraded corridor is expected to accommodate over 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, significantly easing traffic congestion in the region.
