In July, Arab stock markets experienced a notable uptick in trading activity, with the volume of shares traded surging by 28.82% compared to the previous month. The total trading volume reached 261.86 billion shares, a significant increase from June’s 203.27 billion shares, largely fueled by heightened activity in the Iraq Stock Exchange, followed closely by the Egyptian market.

Despite this increase in trading volume, the overall value of transactions fell by 16.82%, dropping to $90.24 billion from June’s $108.48 billion. This decline in transaction value was observed across several major markets, including those in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait, indicating a complex financial landscape in the region.

Market performance across the region displayed varied results. Egypt’s EGX30 index stood out with a gain of 5.85% during July, marking it as one of the month’s strongest performers. Other regional exchanges also saw gains, contributing to a mixed but somewhat optimistic market sentiment despite the overall decline in transaction values.

The combined market capitalization of Arab stock exchanges held steady, showing a slight increase of 0.06% to approximately $4.31 trillion. This stability in market capitalization suggests resilience in the face of fluctuating transaction values and mixed market performances.

Overall, the figures indicate robust trading activity across Arab stock markets, highlighting a dynamic trading environment despite the challenges of weaker transaction values and varied performances among major regional equity markets.
