Netanyahu Walks Into a Café and Walks Out of Iran’s Conspiracy Narrative

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a deliberate and effective move this week by stepping into a café and filming a video that dismantled both death conspiracy theories and an AI fabrication claim while providing a meaningful update on Israel’s military operations. Posted on X, the clip combined levity and leadership in a way that few wartime communications have managed. Netanyahu appeared entirely at ease throughout.

The Prime Minister invoked a Hebrew expression to mock the assassination rumors, joking that the only dying he was experiencing was over coffee. He then spoke with genuine feeling about Israeli citizens, praising their remarkable solidarity and describing it as an indispensable source of strength for his leadership, the government, and the country’s military forces. His words came across as deeply sincere.

He used the video to address the viral conspiracy suggesting that footage from a recent press conference had been artificially generated. The claim rested on an image appearing to show Netanyahu with six fingers. He held both hands up to the camera and counted each finger with calm humor, delivering an effective and entirely visual rebuttal.

Netanyahu confirmed that Israeli forces were conducting powerful operations in both Iran and Lebanon. He withheld specific mission details but communicated confidence in the effectiveness of those operations. He also urged every Israeli, from ordinary citizens to government officials at the highest level, to follow civil defense protocols and stay near protected spaces.

Iran’s IRGC responded with a formal and public vow through state media to pursue and kill Netanyahu. The declaration used hostile language and was framed as a standing military objective. The official nature of the assassination pledge drew sharp international reaction and underscored that the personal stakes of the Israel-Iran conflict were very real.
