UAE, Angola Leaders Explore New Horizons for Strategic Partnership

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Angolan President Joao Manuel Lourenco in Luanda during his state visit to Angola, where both leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Talks focused on expanding collaboration in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, food security, technology, and logistics. Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE’s commitment to supporting Angola’s development aspirations, stressing that both countries share a vision of sustainable growth and prosperity.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to promote peace and stability. Sheikh Mohamed underlined that the UAE is determined to deepen its strategic partnerships with African nations and contribute to the continent’s stability and development.

Economic ties between the UAE and Angola have been expanding steadily, with non-oil trade reaching $2.2 billion in 2024. Cooperation agreements already cover sectors such as clean energy, ports, agriculture, and technology, with new opportunities in mining, renewable energy, and food security also under discussion. Recent joint projects include solar energy initiatives, maritime infrastructure development, and financing for data centres and sustainable urban projects across Angola.

The visit marks another milestone in the UAE–Angola relationship, building on years of diplomatic engagement and investments that aim to drive mutual growth and long-term strategic cooperation.
