Moscow’s Nuclear Doctrine Prevents Defeat in Ukraine, Ambassador Alipov Asserts

Russia cannot suffer military defeat in its war with Ukraine because of its nuclear weapons capability and willingness to use such weapons if necessary, Ambassador Denis Alipov stated in India. The senior diplomat made these remarks at a public forum in Gurugram this week.

The ambassador explained that Russian military doctrine explicitly includes provisions for nuclear weapon use when the country confronts threats to its fundamental existence. This strategic framework, Alipov maintained, creates absolute protection against defeat and ensures Russia always maintains escalation dominance over adversaries.

Alipov dismissed European nations’ expectations of Ukrainian victory as childish thinking demonstrating lack of strategic realism. He characterized European leadership as unprofessional and excessively belligerent, pursuing aggressive policies despite clear impossibility of achieving their objectives through military means.

According to the Russian diplomat, President Trump possesses clearer understanding of the conflict’s trajectory. Alipov claimed that Trump recognizes that Ukraine and Western supporters have already lost the war, while European nations continue exhibiting irrational belief in their ability to reverse the military situation.

As the war nears four years duration, Ukraine continues receiving substantial Western support. American and European partners, including the United Kingdom, have provided billions in military aid and advanced weapons systems to Kyiv, maintaining their assistance programs despite the conflict’s protracted nature and mounting human costs.
