Qatar and UAE Forge New Partnership in Workforce Development

Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have signed a major agreement to strengthen cooperation in labour affairs and human resource development, marking a new chapter in Gulf regional collaboration.

The agreement was signed by Qatar’s Minister of Labour, Dr Ali bin Samikh al-Marri, and UAE’s Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dr Abdulrahman Abdulmannan al-Awar. It focuses on enhancing workforce coordination, exchanging expertise, and adopting best international practices in labour management.

Under this partnership, the two countries will launch joint initiatives covering labour legislation, recruitment policies, working conditions, occupational safety, dispute resolution, and employment regulation. It will also promote systems for registering and hiring job seekers, while advancing training, upskilling, and requalification programmes for national workforces.

The cooperation further includes field visits, knowledge-sharing on human resource development, and the exchange of labour market data and legislative updates to support sustainable workforce growth in both nations.
